Middlesex 3 communities are located 15 miles northwest of downtown Boston and offer a robust transportation network providing easy access to points locally, regionally and beyond. Whether by bicycle, car, freight, bus, train or in the air, this vibrant corridor and all of its amenities are a quick and easy ride away.

The corridor is served by US Route 3 and the Lowell Connector which provides highway access through the nine communities from the Route 95/128 belt to New Hampshire and points north. In addition to Route 3, the corridor has access to Route 95 in Burlington and 495 in Lowell and Chelmsford as well as Routes 2 and 93 in neighboring communities. In addition to highway access, there have been several recent infrastructure improvements including the new Mitre Link extension in Burlington/Bedford/Billerica have made transportation more streamlined within the corridor communities.
Middlesex 3 easy access to two international airports, Logan Airport and Manchester(NH)/Boston Regional Airport both located within 20 miles of the coalition communities. Bedford is also home to Hanscom Field with limited commercial flight offering within the Northeast US and Southeast Canada.
The area is served by various means of public transportation including Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) bus service, as well as regular commuter rail service into Boston via the Purple Line (Commuter Rail) with stops in downtown Lowell and North Billerica. The area is also served by the Lowell Regional Transportation Authority (LRTA) which has routes that service all of Lowell as well as lines serving parts of Chelmsford, Billerica and Burlington. The town of Burlington operates a local bus service the "B-Line" with routes throughout the Town of Burlington. The Middlesex 3 Coalition is excited to announce that a Transportation Management Association (TMA) has been established which has just begun to provide shuttle service to Billerica from various points on the MBTA red/green lines! Walking, Biking, Boating
Our communities have great amenities such as the Minuteman Bikeway in Bedford the terminus of an 11 mile heavily used bike trail that ends in Cambridge. The Bedford Narrow-Gauge Rail-Trail connects Bedford and Billerica on an converted rail line, and the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail which runs through Chelmsford to the Lowell Line.
